InvestorUniverse vs Visible
Visible helps you share decks, run a fundraising pipeline and send investor updates. InvestorUniverse helps you decide who to send them to.
What Visible is
Visible describes itself as a platform that keeps investors and founders connected by centralising portfolio data and fundraising management. For founders it offers deck sharing with per-slide analytics, secure data rooms, fundraising CRM pipelines, investor update tools and metric tracking.
It also says founders get access to a database of more than 20,000 verified VCs for free. For investors it offers portfolio monitoring and reporting, and it says over 950 funds use it.
Who it suits
It suits founders who already have a list of investors and want to run the raise well: track conversations, share the deck and see who opens it, keep a data room, and send regular updates to investors and shareholders.
Its starter plan is aimed at a founder who wants to send updates and start a fundraise, and its higher plans add more data rooms, integrations and analytics.
It is also useful before a raise starts. A founder who sends regular investor updates builds trust with angels and funds, and that makes a later conversation warmer when the time comes to ask for money.
What it costs
Visible publishes four founder plans. Starter is free. Base is $59 a month billed annually, or $69 monthly. Core is $129 a month billed annually, or $149 monthly. Growth is $199 a month billed annually, or $249 monthly. The plans scale by investor update volume, data rooms, analytics and integrations.
InvestorUniverse is a different shape of cost. The top 10 is free, the full report is a one-off purchase, and monthly plans start with Spark at £79.
Where Visible is strong
It is strong on workflow. Per-slide deck analytics, data rooms and a fundraising pipeline are the day-to-day tools of a raise, and investor updates carry on being useful after you close. A free tier makes it easy to try.
The same tool follows you from raising to reporting, which many founders value.
Visible serves both founders and funds, with over 950 funds listed as users on its homepage. That means investors may already know the format of an update or a data room when you share one.
Where InvestorUniverse is a better fit
A pipeline needs names in it. We start there. Give us your company and raise, and we score UK investors on stage, sector, cheque size, geography and recent activity. You get up to 100 best-fit investors with a written reason for each.
That helps if you are raising in the UK and a global list of VCs is too broad to work from. The reasons also give you a line for your first email. Our funding newsroom shows recent UK rounds, so you can see who has been active lately.
Pipeline tools are only as good as the names in them. A tight list of well-matched investors tends to make a raise easier to manage than a long one, and our ranking is designed to help you build the tight one.
When I'd use Visible instead
I'd use Visible if I had my investor list and needed a clean way to share the deck, see engagement and keep notes on every conversation. I'd also use it after the round, to send monthly updates and keep investors close.
If I were raising from VCs outside the UK, its wider database would be worth a look.
If your raise is already moving and your list is settled, the extra value now sits in following up on time and knowing who has read what. A pipeline with deck analytics helps with exactly that. The free plan lets you try the basics, and its pricing page shows per-slide analytics starting on the Core plan.
How they can work together
They fit one after the other. Build your target list in InvestorUniverse, import or copy those investors into your Visible pipeline, then send your deck through Visible and watch who reads it. When the round closes, keep using Visible for updates.
